What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

 Good Morning Quilters!

This is the political campaign button I wore when I voted early last week.   The election workers decided that since the Peanuts character “Lucy” was not on the ballot, they would allow me to wear it.  It is probably 40 years old.

I voted early because I am leaving tomorrow (election day) to go on a quilt retreat.  My strong belief that God is in control of everything calms me in preparation for the results in either direction.  Republican or Democrat leaders for four years; we will survive.  God is in control.

Fired Up! Quilt 1

Hi, there! I went to Brazil to visit my family and returned to a pile of work!  I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. For us, it was just normal days. Here, compared to Norway, there are no public holidays related to Easter. In Norway; Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Monday are public holidays. Now that we are on partial lockdown (phase #1 in reopening), all church services are closed. UFO's are put aside, since I'm currently working on two Patriotic table runners. It's a custom order to one in the US. 

I wanted to have this one up for Veteran's Day, but my binding fingers just weren't fast enough.  When I was quilting Gilly's Stars and Stripes, I was thinking 'this quilt doesn't look like what I remember it looking like'.  Ummm, that's because I was thinking of a different quilt!  I had totally forgotten about that one and was thinking of this one when I thought about that allover design.  Funny thing is -- this runner hasn't been hanging up for a long time.  It's relatively newer.  They say the first thing to go ...

Some quilters will throw out a challenge every January based on what year it is.  For example:  10 quilts in 2010.  Up until about 2015 (think 15 quilt finishes), I participated.  Then, life got in the way.  I'm absolutely amazed at the ladies who are striving for 20 in 2020!  For me, having all the flimsies (finished tops that just need quilted) from shop samples and class samples, it seems like a great challenge to get some of them completed.  I even will challenge myself to quilt a flimsie if I 'allow' myself to piece yet another.  Back when ...
